You are the PR manager for Mr. Mayor, a corrupt, incompetent politician somehow running for re-election.

Every day, a new scandal breaks.

Your job is to "spin" the news and restore the mayor’s reputation.

You cannot make Mr. Mayor look good.

You can only make him look less bad.

Every round a  fresh dossier lands on your desk. Another embarrassment. Another disaster. Another thing he said into a live microphone that he absolutely should not have said. You have only four tools at your disposal: ATTACK, REFRAME, MINIMIZE, and DEFLECT.

But the press is watching. The public is watching. And they remember what you said last week.

My take on the jam theme, "Spin to Win," was to think as far outside the box as possible. My first few ideas were the obvious ones: making a game about gambling, Beyblades, and other literal interpretations of "spinning." But I figured those ideas would probably be done to death in this jam, and there are definitely developers out there who could execute those concepts better than I could.

I wanted my game to stand out, so I stopped thinking about "spin to win" as in locomotion, I instead started thinking about it more figuratively. For example, someone might say, "My head is spinning!" to describe mental turmoil rather than actual movement. You could also make a game about a spider that "spins" a web

 (I think I saw someone do this idea on the discord?) etc.. That's how the idea for this game was born: instead of spinning physically, you're performing PR spin, controlling the narrative around a corrupt and terrible mayor in an attempt to keep him in office.
